Hi, and welcome to my blog site.
Family and friends, it’s great to see you. If you are a reader directed here through the serendipity of a search engine, cheers.
What you will find here is in the form of letters home to my parents and other dear people in our lives who we see only on an occasional basis. I started it after my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. We live 1,300 miles away … and now it just seems too far, and time, too short.
So these daily meanderings are meant to connect, reach out, capture for him, and for us, the crazy, the poignant, the rhythm of life. Maybe some of it will strike you as funny. Maybe some of it will strike you as navel gazing. Maybe some of it will hold a nugget of truth or hope or connection.
Like many bloggers these days, I am a former journalist who has traded in the excitement of great stories and daily deadlines and the desire to change the world for runny noses, bike rides and art projects. With three kids, there’s a lot of lunches and laundry around here … but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
I’d like to think that I am still changing the world, one diaper at a time.
And working out the meaning through these “Letters Home.”
